This weekend's Toppenish Western Art Show runs from noon to 6 p.m. today, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday in Railroad Park, between Asotin and Toppenish avenues.
The annual show -- now in its 11th year -- features more than 30 Western, Native American and wildlife artists from across the Pacific Northwest, as well as a showcase of student art.
On Saturday, there will also be a Kids 'N' Art class from 9-11 a.m., and the popular quick draw contest at 4 p.m. An auction of the quick-draw pieces and other works begins at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds go toward a scholarship for a local art student. At 6 p.m., the Lions Club will host a steak feed.

Also in Toppenish this weekend -- and also in its 11th year -- is the Northern Pacific Railroad Show, which runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today through Sunday. It's sponsored by the Northern Pacific Railroad Museum and the Yakima Valley Rail & Steam Museum.
Held in the refurbished train depot and railroad yard adjacent to Railroad Park at 10 Asotin Ave., the show includes special exhibits, railroad memorabilia, a model train display, caboose rides, a swap meet (Saturday only) and engine house tours, among other activities.
